"Venus Descent" is named after the planetary orbit of Venus. The ancient story of Venus Descent tells the story of the goddess Venus' passage through several gates, and with each gate, the shedding of ornamental jewelry and clothing, each representing a facet of the self. When the planet Venus enters the Ascent cycle, the planet reappears in the sky after a period of not being visible to the eye. The ascent tells the story of how the planet Venus reemerges from descent, and how the goddess Venus reclaims the facets of identity that were shed and transformed during the descent cycle.

The "Venus Descent" study parallels the planetary orbit of Venus with the spiraling growth patterns of shells. Pieces from this collection are formed from precious metals, recycled sterling silver and gold, which are birthed from supernovae explosions. The use of shell forms and precious metals merges the stars and the water, referencing both the planet Venus of the cosmos and the goddess Venus of the ocean, who was "born from seafoam" within an oyster, like a pearl. Both the melting and reshaping of the metal, and the form of the spiral, symbolize the Descent/Ascent orbit and story of Venus, which tells the story of transformation, shedding and rebuilding.

The patterns of a planet's orbit and the spiral of a shell symbolize the cycles of nature. A shell's growth patterns reflect the environment it grew in, providing information on climate, tidal & moon cycles. Your shell holds an environmental record preserved within its layers and spirals, unique textural codes. "Imperfections" are intentional and embraced, as they are a nod to the unique patterns, textures, shapes and forms of a shell's growth and life, like the rings of a tree. No15 "Venus Coins" features shapes and textures inspired by coral rock and shell. The spiraling growth pattern on some of the coins mirrors the descent spiral of goddess/planet Venus, this spiral represents the several gates on Venus' journey. While on the other side of the spiralled coin, the shell resembles a planet. You can wear these pieces as a set or individually. When worn individually with the silk cord, the piece can be worn spiral side facing up or smooth planetary side facing up. The larger piece in the set is inspired by coral rock, the concept is that each of these pieces represents a "Venus Coin" or underwater currency, each holding a different value. Like mermaid money!

No9 "Venus Heart" is inspired by an oyster shell, referencing the birth of Venus from ocean froth, within an oyster, like the birth of a pearl.

No14 "Venus Ascent" is named after the current planetary cycle of Venus, a new orbital cycle which began at the start of May 2021. The Venus Ascent cycle is when the planet Venus reappears in the sky after a period of not being visible to the eye. It tells the story of how the planet Venus reemerges from descent, and when goddess Venus reclaims the facets of identity that were shed and transformed during the descent cycle.

No8 “Calling Venus” has a subtle, gentle grace and will call to those who are meant to wear and own. “Calling Venus” features a spiral shape, a nod to the Venus Descent/Ascent story. The shape invokes that of a phone or instrument used to make a sound or call. A telephone to Venus. To be worn only with a silk cord, not a chain.

No3 “Pearl Mother” is in the shape of the mother of the Pearl, an oyster shell, the birthing place of a Pearl and the birthing place of Venus.

No1 “Venus Listening” is meant to cup the ear, in order to hear the sounds of or calls from Venus. Inspired by a clam shell shape.

No2 “Venus Anointing” is intended to serve as an anointing dish for oils, salts, perfumes, adornments. Inspired by a clam shell shape.

No11 “Venus Wishing Set” is a set of three intended for making wishes. Similar to the “Venus Coins” , the set is like a wishing stone or wishing coin for mermaids. Each shell has a unique shape. You will notice one is shaped like a wave, and other special forms, curves & spirals. Make a wish on each shell.

No26 “Venus Half Spiral” : halfway through the spiral, Venus lands in the heart. Venus Half Spiral was born during the phase of the heart in the Venus Ascent cycle. This piece represents this midpoint phase of the ascent orbit of the planet Venus, and parallels the phase of the heart in the story of Venus. Featuring a half spiral, the design of this piece represents this orbital phase and this stage of Venus’ journey.
